Mental Healthcare in Alabama
With healthcare being debated in Washington, it’s important to remember those that truly rely on others’ support. There are currently zero public mental health facilities in Alabama yet the state legislature was willing to borrow $845 million dollars for four substandard prisons. You’re Invited! To the Party of Democratic Oppression
The Democratic Party was formed from the anti-federalists, who opposed the ratification of the 1787 constitution. Founded by Andrew Jackson, (who supported slavery and would play a large role in the Indian removal), the party advocated westward expansion, Manifest Destiny, and greater equality among white men. Who Is This Woman?: Wonder Woman’s Refreshing Take On Feminism
Perhaps one of the most telling scenes of the new Wonder Woman movie is when Diana Prince finds herself in a room filled with the most high-ranking men in Great Britain. As they debate whether or not to save thousands of lives or risk upsetting negotiations of the armistice that will end World War I, Diana bravely intervenes on behalf of the thousands of lives the men seem so quick to give up. After the entire room is set aback at the outburst, one of the officers appropriately wonders, “Who is this woman?” This woman is not only a hero more badass than any Superman, but embodies some of the best qualities that are inherent in almost all women...
